Retroguru released an almost brand new puzzle game to the public. Xump 2 has been first released at the demoparty Revision 2017 in Saarbrücken, Germany.
Now three years later the game is prettier and has developed a lot. The boxed version can be pre-ordered from DragonBox Shop for 29€ excluding shipping.
According the the developers and their Facebook post, the game ROM will be made free by 1st January 2021, which is a really smart move. We hope, other developers will pick up this idea of a boxed release and a free ROM after a while.

Sega has launched its own music brand and begun publishing soundtracks in its home market of Japan.
A press release shared by Famitsu announces the debut of Sega Music, which will now be the umbrella brand for all game music releases from the publisher.
Sega will work with various music labels on each release, using the new branding to signify the company's involvement.
The first release is the Sakura Wars Complete Collection, or New Sakura Taisen Kayo Complete Collection as it's known in Japan.
The album is based on the latest Sakura Wars title for PS4, and was released in collaboration with Wave Master Entertainment earlier this week.

Sega used to rule the arcades. Older readers will remember the glory days of tokens and quarters. From Out Run to Hang-On and After Burner, Sega arcade games stood out. This was mainly due to their cabinets which were usually huge and eye popping. Now select Sega arcade cabinets are popping out for a different reason.

BlastEm v0.6.3 pre (2020/04/18) is released. BlastEm has the goal of being an extremely accurate Genesis emulator while still running on relatively modest hardware by using advanced techniques. Currently it meets neither my accuracy nor performance goals, but those goals are pretty high. Speed and accuracy should be sufficient for most purposes. It runs at full speed on an old first generation Intel Atom and can run Sonic 2 at around 600 fps on a Haswell desktop using a single core. To my knowledge, it is the only emulator besides Genesis Plus GX that can properly display the "TITAN 512C FOREVER" portion of Titan's Overdrive demo, and the only emulator besides Exodus that passes all 122 of the tests in Nemesis' VDP FIFO Testing ROM and can properly display "Direct Color DMA" demos.
BlastEm Features:
* savestates
* integrated debugger
* GDB remote debugging
* joystick/gamepad support
* Mega/Sega Mouse support
* save RAM and EEPROM support
* Sonic & Knuckles lock-on
* turbo and slow modes
* configurable low pass filter
* single pass GLSL shaders (though there are no interesting ones presently)

- <article>
After having partnered up with SEGA to release USB Genesis/Mega Drive controllers last year, Retro-Bit is ready to take on another classic SEGA gamepad. This time, they're tackling the Sega Dreamcast controller, in an attempt to create an official "improved" version for players to best enjoy their favorite Dreamcast titles. The controller will have wired and wireless options, will feature a brand new redesigned dpad, more ergonomic triggers, and six face buttons. Currently, Retro-Bit doesn't have a solid release date, but the controller is planned to be available for purchase by the end of this year.

SSF PreviewVer R16 is released. SSF is a Sega Saturn emulator for Windows systems using DirectX 9.0b. The current version claims near-complete implementation of the Sega Saturn hardware (not counting emulation bugs), and can emulate the Saturn based Sega Titan Video arcade hardware too. As with most emulators, CDs or disc images are not included and have to be owned separately. The BIOS is also not included; as of 0.07 Beta R3, games run without the BIOS however. The usage of BIOS files is optional but recommended for better compatibility, and needed for tasks such as management of the contents of the internal memory of the Sega Saturn, or setting the system clock.
