The Lavalit guys have released a new of their Beatem Up for the Dreamcast, PSP, Wiz, Wii, GP2x and Dingoo:
penBOR is a continuation of the Beats Of Rage 2D game engine, which was originally
created by the wonderful folks over at http://www.senileteam.com.
History
----------------------
In 2004, Senile Team released Beats of Rage, a free beat-'em-up for DOS inspired
by SEGA's Streets of Rage series and using sprites from SNK Playmore's King of
Fighters series. The spread only by word of mouth, but it nonetheless
amassed popularity very quickly. Senile Team soon released an edit pack allowing
anyone interested to create a mod for the BOR engine.
In 2005, Kirby2000 asked Senile Team to open the source code to BOR. They
agreed, and OpenBOR was born. Development on the engine was continued by the
community, and still is to this day.
Available Platforms
----------------------

to the following platforms are currently supported:

If there's one thing better than a new Ben Heck mod, it's seeing something his army of apprentices hascooked up. This time, Turkish modder c_mon has produced a striking wooden Sega Saturn laptop. It's got a 5-inch LCD screen pulled from a Sony PSOne in the lid, built-in speakers and a fan to keep things cool in the enclosure. The case copies the mould lines from the original Saturn, with the natty addition of an electroluminescent wire that puts us in mind of Tron when the device is running. Keen-eyed visitors to our gallery below will notice that the laptop's lid actually bears the logo of Saturn automobiles -- it's deliberate as the modder couldn't get his CNC (Computer Numerical Control) cutter to play nicely with Sega's curved logo. Incorrect marque or not, we can all agree it's much more handsome than previous efforts.

Out-of-Print Archive have revisited the classic Sega Saturn Magazine and have remastered issue 4, which was originally published by EMAP in February 1996. This means this is the definitive “meppi†release with enhanced editing techniques throughout. To accompany this remastered digital release, there are four articles to view online which were taken from the magazine and include articles on Panzer Dragoon Zwei and Darius Gaiden, and reviews of Wing Arms and True Pinball. The magazine release can be downloaded in full 1920px resolution or 1024px iDevice friendly, or both. All the download links, full issue contents and info can be found on the Sega Saturn Magazine issue 4 catalogue page.

If you’re a fan of Speedball 2 then you will want to check out this prototype of the previously unreleased Beastball. Although released under Brutal Sports Football on the Jaguar, DOS and Amiga in 1993, the planned Mega Drive and SNES versions by Spectrum Holobyte were never released and remained lost to gaming… until now, for the Mega Drive, at least. As part of their ongoing summer of proto ROMs, MrMark0673 and BeaglePuss over at SegaAge continue to astound everyone with their findings of unreleased games.
As hinted at, Beastball is a futuristic sports game in the same mould as Speedball 2, but with the added ability of being able to throw or kick the ball into the goal. While there are the usual gameplay modes of League, Unfriendly, and Knockout, as well as the chance to spend earned cash on improving players’ stats, Beastball does have some pretty interesting features. While playing a match, you can expect to see weapons, bombs, shields, rabbit/turtle power ups/downs, decapitations and lots more.
The Beastball prototype ROM can be downloaded from the SegaAge forums.
