Heres another Genesis update:
Release client of Tanglewood still ahead!
Friday update: Release Candidate is so close I could scream! A few issues held it up this week, but it’s back down to a very small handful of bugs again before we make the call.
For context: we were ready to mark a build as RC1 just yesterday, but a bizarre palette messup and crash was found on a popular clone machine, which unravelled a whole host of problems with our assembler and the manner in which it applies code optimisations. All fixed now.
As a bonus, the game is now more optimised, because the optimisations we thought were being applied for the past two years actually weren’t!
Massive kudos to the Closed beta team, who are still here helping out, getting us through this! I’d love to give you a new target date but we all know how that worked out last time! I’ll just keep everyone posted as things happen.

Heres another update to the sci fi game:
Star Ark is a science fiction game being developed for the Sega Genesis. The game is set on an interstellar colony ship. The player is a member of the crew who must put down a mutiny and set the ship back on course. The 8 Bit Daddy Daughter Team recently posted an update.
Quote:Here is an alternative title screen that one may trigger by pressing any button between seconds 1 and 2 of program execution. It isn’t as pretty as the default title screen but it is labeled to show the player the structure of the star ship.

Heres a new archived games magazine from yesteryear:
I had to take a bit of a break after last months gigantic project, but we're back now, and with a another great release.
We are proud to present you with issue 23 of the Official Sega Saturn Magazine. This one if filled to the brim with goodness, so much so that we ended up putting 54 pages on the site as online articles! That has to be a record.
First up let's look at the big features in this issue: Grandia, Last Bronx, Marvel Super Heroes, Salamander Deluxe Pack, Sega Touring Car Championship, Thunder Force V and Waku Waku 7. As if that isn't enough, we move also look at a huge interview with AM#1 on The House of the Dead. As well as a look at the arcade games Le Mans 24 and Samurai Spirits 64.
Still want more? Well we also got reviews for Resident Evil, Discworld 2, Warcraft 2 and Williams Arcade Greatest Hits. Enjoy!

Heres an update for Tanglewood:
Release client of Tanglewood ahead!
Quote:Friday update: we have a final build date!
Since we haven’t encountered a gameplay breaking bug in a while, and have only been fixing medium-to-small issues, we’ve decided it’s about time we locked down and committed to a date – we’re aiming to hit Gold build on Friday 18th May.
In order to do that, we’re aiming to have our release candidate this Sunday 13th May, which gives us 5 days to double and triple check that there really is nothing game breaking left, whilst making necessary preparations for sending the build to the factory.
We’re picking at small bugs, reworking minute details, if we’re left to do this unsupervised then we could find a lifetime’s worth of tiny perfectionist work, and it’ll never get released. Everyone on the team has agreed on a final list of things to resolve, and then it’s ready.
I’ll be honest, I am absolutely TERRIFIED. This 6 year ordeal is actually, finally, really, genuinely about to come to a close, and TANGLEWOOD will be finished. It’s gonna be a strange week.
Not that we’re out of the woods just yet – after that scary date, we begin physical manufacture!
See you on the other side,
Matt

And another piece for Genesis News:
Retroguru did not gave up their project Xump 2, the #1 gamedev compo winner from Revision 2017. It’s still receiving plenty of tiny improvements. Help Misuki to destroy blocks systematically to clear another 48 fields. Puzzle fun ahead!
Quote from Facebook:Xump 2 for Mega Drive / Genesis is still a in progress game, but we are almost there. There is a free version already available, the pimped one will be out on cartridge via DragonBox Shop later this year.
There is also a good chance to see this game on all other systems we support. Certainly this will depend on the feedback we get.
