DJGeki uploaded a video of Donk: Samurai Duck, the upcoming commercial game for Dreamcast by Cryptic Allusion (of Feet of Fury fame). The video shows the gameplay, check it out now:
Touching base --
This'll be a quick (and overdue) blog.
Segagaga localization is still underway. I think we've got the material together for a demo patch that would make up to the end of the first RPG segment playable. I'm still waiting to hear back on our progress with the programming end of things, though, so I can't promise when that will be available.
(Notice that I didn't write "if that will be available." All signs still point to forward progress.)
The actual translation work will be slowed, however, due to other priorities that demand a whole lot of time. [...]
I hope to have more concrete word about the status of the programming end of things soon, and I'll let everyone know what's up when I know myself.
Not many sites other than our own Network sites are worthy enough of a Network Posting on all our sites but PDroms the Archive for tons of homebrew roms no other site covers is invaluable, heres a list of homebrew rom downloads to whet your appetite:

PSU_Castor, co-host of the weekly PSU Community Podcast, invited us Dreamcast fans to listen to this week's Dreamcast themed show:
Here's a little challenge for all you fellow Dreamcast fans!
Over in the online game Phantasy Star Universe I am one of the hosts of a weekly podcast. The players voted in Dreamcast as this week's theme, and I finished the podcast lastnight.
There are four mystery tracks that play throughout the podcast, and we challenge people to see if they can name which games all four come from. I imagine you guys won't be all that interested in the PSU news or the interview, so you can skip past all that if you want. Anyways, I just figured that some other DC fans and owners might enjoy a bit of a dive back into the songs that made up some of (I think) the best games out there.
Hope it brings back some memories. You can stream it directly (no Ipod needed) at the following link. Enjoy.
Since the NG emulation scene is a bit slow on news right now, I bugged drk||Razi to find out some new details on one of the hottest dreamcast emulator out there right now, nullDC. A new version with some nice changes is on it's way, so we'll take a quick preview on the things to come.
First off, let's take a quick look at some of the features and fixes included in this upcoming version:
Hz Selection Support for PAL Games Added. (nullPVR/Chanka PVR)
Mouse & Keyboard emulation added.
Image Reader can patch GD-Rom region at runtime, to allow .gdi images from all regions to boot.
Image Reader can swap CD/GD-ROMs.
nullDC can now set the DC's region (JAP/EUR/USA), broadcast type (NTSC/PAL/PAL_M/PAL_N) and cable type (VGA/TV(RGB)/TV(VBS)).
Speed optimizations.
New Maple (Input) plugin with Gamepad support.
Fixes for the following games: Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Dino Crisis, Timestalkers, Dead or Alive 2 (LE), Virtua Fighter 3, Fighting Vipers, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Shuffle and many others ...
Now the usual question is - when can you expect a new release? The good news is that, even though no date has been set yet, the release is pretty close (we're talking about weeks, not months any more) - we'll of course keep you updated here on NGEmu should there be any news on this!
The GP2X for those who dont know is a very powerful Video Games Console that has a few commercial games but the strength of this console lies within its homebrew capabilities.
The console is excellent for watching Videos, uses AA Batteries (always use the highest spec rechargeables), has TV Out, it even has a Cradle which turns the GP2X into a computer nearly with USB Ports which you can add a Keyboard, Mouse and Much More.
The GP2X has a back catalogue of over 500 Games, Emulators, Applications and More. The handheld also boasts the only Sega Mega CD Emulator for Handhelds and also some of the best Snes and Megadrive emulators on any handheld.
The touch screen GP2X will add a whole new dimension to the handheld which gives it the uniqueness of DS Style games but with the near PSP Power of the GP2X.
Certainly another massive day for the Homebrew Community
Both Play Asia and GP2X Store are taking preorders for the new Touch Screen GP2X.
Will this be the addition that persuades DS and PSP Fans to get one, only time will tell.
This is an interactive E-Book for your Dreamcast (similar to our Christmas release), it contains 10 classic stories, 5 real-life stories, 5 eerie tales, and the entire 'Legend of Sleepy Hollow', all set to background art and an unsettling soundtrack. For extra novelty value we've thrown in a collection of jokes and recipes to try out, along with a Halloween Jukebox with loads of Halloween themed tunes.
As the PC extras, this time there's over 200 Pumpkin carving templates on the CD for you to make a masterpiece on Halloween night, 131 Halloween/Horror themed Fonts, 23 Halloween/Horror Dingbat Fonts, and 16 sets of Halloween themed Desktop Icons. For the younger ones, there's a collection of 'print-and-play' activity books (word searches, connect-the-dots, mazes etc.), print-color-cut Halloween masks, coloring books and posters. You could always just pop the CD into your PC CD/DVD drive and enjoy over 6 hours of Halloween music including a massive set of spooky SFX.
Have fun and Happy Halloween!.

They're pretty pricey ($160), but I've ordered from them several times in the past and always had good luck. Came across this today while looking for a few other things, and figured I'd post it here in case anyone was interested.
Changes:
- some fixes & tweaks (boss animation ordering…)
- new boss routine for caveman
- new "all bosses in a row" world (after world 5)
- pictures are now 24bits bmp, displayed in 16 bits (sdl transform)
- water world is back with default tileset
(Beta is not public… but you can see things are going ahead again! )

we have a new graphic artist, who was and is involved in commercial gba and nds games. he will take care of the tilesets and will adjust them to the backgrounds of each world. we can assure you, the first drafts look excellent and the game will rock even more. if the first tileset has been retouched, you’ll find a screenshot or more here.
our main musician Operator is currently not reachable, or not answering our mails, for whatever reason. this ain’t too bad, because there are two other people who are willing to help out. music isn’t really an issuse and quality chipmusic is granted as well. the two guys i am talking about made a soundtrack for "Poussin", the successor of "Xump" (gp32, dreamcast, win32) but as the second part of xump will take some time, we will just misuse the unreleased tracks for giana.
parts of the storyline are drawn, just minor work is left.
when time comes, we need few translators, who will localize the game into their mother tongue. so far there is an english version and a pretty poor german translation. basically everything is possible if we have a translator: french, spanish, hungarian, finish, swedish, whatever… but for this we will need you! you can already start posting in the comments, we will get back to you. english, french and german are already covered.
if we keep the speed as it is, we hope to pull the game out by around new year, but this shouldn’t be a promise
Things are still going slow on the hobbyiest side of things, but I've been working with SDLdotNet. I'll be updating my dotnet sample page (which I'll have up this weekend with at least 2 samples in Visual Studio and Nant flavors) sporadically throughout the next month as I learn more about this version of iteration of Simple Directmedia Layer. Also, I guess I've been missing files from this site for a very long time and I just didn't have a chance to look for them. I found them! The Dreamcast SDL examples page now has working links to all examples. I apologize to everyone who has e-mailed me about that in the past few months. Also, hopefully some C# .NET versions of some of those examples will find their way onto the C# SDLDotNet page soon, and hopefully I can do something with this idea I have...
The Not-so-indie-stry
- Sony's elevendy-billion dollar mistake
- The Orange Box (with juicy info submitted by Morden)
- Nintendo Conference 2007 keynote by Satoru Iwata - Link
- The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - Roddy can complain about anything!
- "Wort wort wort!" - it's actually "Go go go!" slowed down, reversed, and messed about a bit.
Beer!
- What the...? How'd this get in there?
Bloopers!
- These are semi-funny...most of the time.
