Fragger decided to cancel the project. You can see in the link a nice video about the Fightoon gameplay.
What he said:
Fightoon is not coming out in 2007. And it is not coming out in 2008 either.
I am sorry to announce this, but the project has been cancelled.
There are many reasons for this. I will list some, but there are some others that we prefer to keep in private. This is a sad event for us, and right now we just want to take some rest.
In this topic I will explain why some aspects of the game are the way they are. There were many things I had to take in consideration when designing the game, and I want to let you know why some decisions were made. It is a lot easier to talk about these things now that the game is not coming out, since we don't have to worry about leaving bad impressions anymore.
Right now I will only mention that we didn't have any music to put in it yet, so I used a freely available music for the sole purpose of recording this video. Except for the music and the Makaqu engine, everything else was completely developed from the ground up by me and Rodrigo.
We want to thank everyone who gave their impressions about the game, and everyone who expressed interest in it. Sorry for not being able to get it done.
Also, thanks to the GOAT Store for all their support.
- change: CDRecord 2.01 MinGW (works with cygwin open!)
- remove: CUE support since CDRecord doesn't support 2352 sector tracks
- new: the installer creates a shortcut in the SendTo menu -- sending folders to BootDreams through here works
This VideoCD/MPEG player for Dreamcast has just recieved a much-needed update.
THIS PLAYER PLAYS:
(S)VCD
MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 program streams (*.mpg, *.mpeg)
MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 elementary video streams (*.m1v, *.m2v)
MPEG elementary audio streams (*.mp1, *.mp2, *.mp3)
Dreamcast Sofdec movies (*.sfd, untested and won't play audio)
Playstation2 pss movies (*.pss, barely tested and won't play audio--this may change)
New in VC/DC 0.1a:
-No longer has horrible sound.
-Support for ID3 tags in MP3 files.
-Fast-Forward actually works.
-You're now able to replay a VCD without opening your Dreamcast's lid by pressing Start.
A new version of Region Changer, an application used to patch the Dreamcast's flash binary into a region of your choice, has been released!

- added writes to shadowed region, broadcast and language locations (PsyMan)
MDS4DC is a tool written in order to generate a real valid Alcohol 120% "Media Descriptor" selfboot image (MDF/MDS) from an ISO with the possibility to add custom RAW audio tracks. Features :
100% real identical images (based on Alcohol 120% 1.9.6 Build 4719).

This is what the authors said (translated):
I managed to find an app which "cooperates" with Makaron and is able to fetch a movie from the emulator. It takes some cycles of my CPU, but something has to do the coding. Normally the emulator runs faster (e.g. Ikaruga doesn't slow down even for a moment). And there's no sound in the movies, because the free version... It's a success nonetheless, because FRAPS killed Makaron all the way. Of course the palette support is hardly software emulated "around", and some things mess up... but I still think it's nice.
Server for netplay with nullDC, the Dreamcast emulator for PC, released.
From the link: Remember there are MANY problems and it will more than likely not work. I suggest you read through the readme thoroughly to make sure everything is configured correctly.
- new: Alcohol 120% support using mds4dc!
- change: auto-dummying code had to be reworked -- a lot better this time around
- change: GUI fix (since disc format doesn't actually matter if you add CDDA tracks, I disabled it if the add CDDA menu is checked)
- change: CDDA tracks are converted to raw now, as required by mds4dc
- updated: more error-proof checks
I'm finally comfortable with the auto-dummying code -- older releases were just really ugly... I also recommend trying auto-dummying with audio\data Alcohol 120% images! Because of mds4dc supporting CDDA, the image is created faster because the dummy isn't put in the ISO, just the audio session in the Alcohol image. Neat, huh?
Warning: CDDA tracks in CDRecord will have static in them, so don't burn them in this version -- Alcohol 120% works fine though as I did test it before it was released.
icepick from Dreamcast-Scene just found on Raiden 4 website a poll asking about which console the game should be ported. And one of the options is the Dreamcast!
Since the website is japanese, icepick translated the poll and you can select and write correctly.
This is the first in a new series of ScummVM releases from DC Evolution, it replaces our previous ScummVM compilation and is a one file download of the LucasArts demo archive. If we've missed any demos, let us know which ones, where to find them, and we'll add them in to the compilation as soon as possible.
11 demos are available on the Dreamcast main menu, another 23 are available as extras, all the demos can be used on various platforms that support ScummVM...
It seems that the Nintendo Wii is 7 years too late with their motion sensing controller for a tennis game. Someone has beat them to the punch..the Sega Dreamcast. Thats right! No, there was no special controller that was never released or a modified controller. Its actually the Sega Dreamcast fishing rod. Yes, the fishing rod! The fishing rod works well with Virtua Tennis and acts as a tennis racket. Similar to that of the Wiimote and Wii Sports. It will take a bit to get use to but it works just like the Wiimote. Unlike Wii Sports where the characters are automatically controlled, you actually have to controller the players in Virtua Tennis with the analog stick and at the same time, swing the racket...errr fishing rod.
- bugfix: CDDA audio in CDRecord GUI needed the -swab switch
- bugfix: the Multisession checkbox wasn't shown for burning ISOs
- new: Data\Data CDDA support in the CDRecord GUI which is better if you create a dummy file bin2boot creates these type of CDDA images
This is basically a bugfix release -- I was adding Data\Data CDDA support in for the next big release and noticed the CDDA was staticy when they were burned in CDRecord. Then earler today I noticed the multisession checkbox wasn't displaying for ISO images. They're fixed now -- sorry about that!
I didn't like the rom list creaters for DCStella so I decided to create my own. Differences: you can select the folder, select where you want to save the rom list and it leaves the filenames alone.
Finally, here it is! Our long awaited, best-ever new release, ScummVM 0.X.0 (or 0.10.0, for those roman numeral challenged amongst you), code named "Tic-tac-toe edition", has arrived today. Now available in stores, err, on download servers worldwide!
"What's new? What's in it? Can I open it up yet?" - Hah, I can already see you shifting impatiently on your seats. But before you run, let me shed some light on the details of this latest installment of the successful ScummVM series:
* Several new engines and thus new games supported:
o Sierra AGI engine: Space Quest I & II, King's Quest I-III and many more, including a vast number of fan-made games,
o Cinematique evo 1 engine: Future Wars,
o GOB engine: Bargon Attack, Gobliins 2, Goblins 3, Ween: The Prophecy,
o AGOS engine: Simon the Sorcerer's Puzzle Pack,
o Parallaction engine: Nippon Safes Inc.,
o Touche: The Adventures of the Fifth Musketeer engine.
* DXA movies (higher quality than MPEG2) can be compressed better now and can be used for the Broken Sword cutscenes.
* Added 'Mass Add' feature to the Launcher, which allows you to scan for all games in all subdirectories of a given directory (to use it, press shift then click on "Add Game").
* Many nice improvements to our ports.
* And as usual a gazillion small fixes, tweaks and improvements.
So, what are you waiting for? Go and grab your free copy of the best-ever ScummVM while it's still hot!
P.S.: The SourceForge.net download mirrors are a bit slow when it comes to syncing, hence it can happen that your download fails or is corrupt after the first try. Don't give up, just try to download from another mirror!

There's news from the DreamChess project (Dreamcast, Windows, Linux, and BeOS):
Just a short status update. We're currently working on DreamChess 0.2.0, due out sometime this summer. The main new features will be sound effects, and music by Matthew P. Smith.
We've almost reached a checkpoint in our work. I've smoothed the bumps from the translation for the Lab A gameplay section; I've got English subtitles on the movies that play through the first part; and the incidental text (such as the descriptions and names of items) has been done for a while. As soon as we plug the English text into the game and give it a whirl, we'll be ready to release a demo patch that will make everything up through the end of Lab A playable.

Kingbuzzo of Dreamcast-Scene.com is offering an Arcade Stick modding service:
So I've finished a few mods, and am willing to offer my services to the public.
I wont be building arcade sticks from scratch, but instead I'll be modding arcade cases with better parts, great paint jobs, and I can build adapters so that you can use it on just about any platform (dc, ps2, saturn, snes, md, neo-geo, usb......)
For example, if you have a dreamcast agetec arcade stick, I can fit it with a high quality stick and buttons from sanwa or seimitsu, as well as build adapters so you can use it on just about everything you own.
Please post any questions at the DCS Marketplace here.
Well, its been a while since the last release to come from me, and that can only mean one thing: I'm overdue for one.
So, Yabause 0.8.5 for the Dreamcast has been released today (along with for all the other platforms that Yabause supports). There's not too many Dreamcast-specific changes in this version, so I'm going to keep this newspost kinda brief.
It's been a long time coming but it's here at last...
Featuring the latest version of ScummVM (0.X.0 - Tic-tac-toe edition) along with the full CD talkie version of BASS and the floppy version of BASS. A host of additional extras are also included: all the demos, boxart, manuals, soundtracks, sourcecode and much more. A nifty PC installer is also included - just pop the CD in your CD/DVD drive and within a minute you'll be playing BASS on your PC (Windows only).

Nerverball is a free Monkey Ball game clone: Tilt the floor to roll a ball through an obstacle course before time runs out. Neverball is part puzzle game, part action game, and entirely a test of skill.
Also Nerverputt game is incluyed, it is a pretty mini-golf game: A hot-seat multiplayer miniature golf game using the physics and graphics of Neverball.
For now, it is a preliminar stage and it have a lot of bugs, as memory leaks (hangs after play a lot of stages) or musics lost sometimes.
