This site has now been open for nearly 4 months and in that time we have had over 505,000 visitors including a record of over 13,000 in one day. We have over 750 members of our Forums and still a friendly community.[br][br]Time for me to point out some site news.[br][br]DCEmu V2[br][br]We are still working on v2 of the site and to be honest the look is just about there, we are also working on a much better forum, whilst still based on Yabb it will have many new and more interesting features than most.[br][br]Supporting the Dreamcast Scene[br][br]We as a site want to support all other Dreamcast sites from all countrys languages etc, as we all have the same goal of keeping the scene alive for as long as we can.[br][br]A New Coding Competition Coming Soon[br][br]We are in talks with Lik Sang and GP32 Extreme over a new coding competition for the GP32/Dreamcast scenes, more info as we get it.[br][br]Im looking into making a private forum for developers to work and help others with projects that arent for public consumption until they are ready.[br][br]Lots more to come, as soon as i wake up but thats another story.

A big newspost thanks to Metafox:[br][br] The future of the Midwest Gaming Classic does not look bright. Dan Loosen and Gary Heil need your help. They have lost significant amounts of money over the last few years, and, if the Midwest Gaming Classic will happen again in the future, they need your commitment to help them out now. They have had some great help over the past few years with Marty Goldberg and Tom Lucht, but unfortunately there is still too much work for just four people to do. They need to get help with everything from getting people to help sponsor the event to helping to create and distribute flyers.[br][br]The Midwest Gaming Classic has lost well over $4000.00 in the three years of operation, and the show cannot continue in the future without a lot of help from the community.[br][br]This is where you come in. If you would like to help the Midwest Gaming Classic continue into the future, they need you to contact them in some way and offer your help. No matter what your skills are or where you live, if you can offer them you will help bring the Midwest Gaming Classic back to Milwaukee in 2005. They could use people for any or all of the following jobs and more:[br][br]- Graphic design for flyers[br]- Graphic design for the Web site[br]- People to distribute flyers throughout town[br]- Volunteers at the show to help man the entrances and exits and sell tickets[br]- People to write articles[br]- People to help contact prospective sponsors, vendors and exhibitors[br]- People with PHP skills to help update the Web site on a timely basis[br]- People in the Milwaukee area to provide more “things to do” pictures[br]- People willing to sell tickets to the event[br]- People to provide materials to help the event (paper, signage, tape, etc.)[br]- And just about anything else that you can think of to help![br][br]If they do not receive a strong response within approximately one month, they will either cancel the event for the foreseeable future or completely change the scope of it. Note that you do not need to live in Wisconsin or even be planning on attending the event if you want to help.[br][br]If you are interested in helping the show, check out This topic on the DCEmulation message boards.

An update from the DCEvolution Site:[br][br] It is now about an half a year ago that we renewed DC Evolution. Along with the change we also decided to put our classic pd-rom images offline. The images where outdated and didn't have the quality we have set to our releases. We started working from ground off to create high quality images, really worth downloading and playing. This is a big task, also seeing how much good pd-rom games are available. We attracted Christuserloeser to help us along the way. Now after an half year of development those big images are in their final stages. It still will take some time before a public release, but it will be really worth it. We haven't forgotten our roots![br][br]In the time of the development of our pd-rom images we have worked on various other special projects. Many of those are already available (see the image sections at the left menu), but some of these special projects are also very long in development. Some of them are almost ready for release and in the next weeks we will give some hints and clues about them.

Its a site that is unlike all the others with special Dreamcast releases that push the scene onto new frontiers.[br][br]Not going to say any more but check out DCEvolution for yourself.

What a year for the Dreamcast scene, the coders who give us games, emulators and so much more tonight get some recognition from a mainstream site such as Slashdot [br][br] The Sega Dreamcast console, which died an early commercial death, has recently seen some amazing new projects mainly aimed at emulation. Recently, a coder named Bluecrab released a port of the Saturn emulator called Yabause for the Dreamcast. Also, GPF (Troy Davis) has ported the excellent Visual Boy Advance (Game Boy Advance Emulator) to the Dreamcast. Finally, yesterday it was announced that Nincest (Nintendo 64 Emulator), an early N64 emulator that played demos only, has also been ported to the Dreamcast. All the projects are somewhat slow, but the achievement of the work is not to be discounted. Who says the Dreamcast is dead? [br][br]Great work and congrats to all the hardworking coders

In the next weeks I should receive a BroadBand Adapter (it cost me a lot of money btw ). Someone suggested me that it could be used to browse and download games directly from (e.g.) wos. What do you think about this idea ? Can it be done ?
