Thanks to my good buddy Dr Zoidberg for this news.[br][br] Eytan Kaziberdov has updated his Dreamcast port of the Magnetic Scrolls adventures interpreter, Magnetic DC. In version 1.1 Eytan has added a virtual keyboard & animated graphics for games that support it. Unless a major bug appears this should be the final Magnetic DC release, Eytan will be moving his attention onto the other Dreamcast homebrew projects he wants to work on, so expect more releases from him in the future. [br][br]Download from DCEmu UKs Magnetic DC Page [br][br]I do have a request however, if anyone has a screenshot 100x100 of this i would love to have one so i can add it to our Latest Homebrew Release.

BoBBi the webmaster of NGemu has posted this interesting news:[br][br] Squallz informed us, that over at this page (spanish), an interview with the author of Chanka has been published. While most of the parts are hard to understand, there're some interresting infos in it nontheless:[br][br]Right now Chanka needs the bios and the flash-ram to work, it doesn't use plugins and it loads the games from the bios. A friend is getting ready to make the sound (...)[br]The emulator is going to be released at the end of june. Right now, commercial games such as Sonic and several others are working. [br][br]Very Very interesting news, could this be the first game playing Dreamcast Emulator for Windows released, the interview in Spanish can be found Here [br][br]If any Spanish visitors could do a an English translation of the interview we would be very pleased.

Ok my turn to put a thought in your head, the two consoles with the best and easiest Development/ Homebrew Scenes are the GP32 and the Dreamcast, with a multitude of sites supporting each scene.[br][br]With the release of the GP32/DC link Cable, will we see a load of software by hobbyist developers to support it and will we see games that can be played on the Dreamcast and then the save file transferred to the GP32 so you can play on the move.[br][br]Anyone have any thoughts on the Dreamcast/GP32 being the Dream Partnership?

Those of you who visit here looking at the emulators must be wondering how you get roms to try on them, now we would never link to commercial roms (so dont ask) but there are some gems in the homebrew/public domain area. Those looking for legal roms shoud check out Kojotes PD Roms.com site and on my Xbox Evolution Site theres rom packs with legal/public domain roms in.[br][br]Anyone with news about new homebrew games/demos for any of the systems that the Dreamcast emulates then please post the news in our Submit News Forum

OneThirty8 posted this in the Storm-Studiosforums:[br][br]I've converted the DirectDraw example of the Yeti3D engine to render and accept keyboard input via SDL. It compiles without changes for Windows (with Dev-C++), Mac OS X (Project Builder) and Dreamcast (I used Cygwin, but whatever.) I've included project files and a DC makefile. [br][br]Also, I put together a zip file of helpful tools. Some of these, like bitmap-to-texture converters, come from GP32 devvers. A couple other apps, like one that converts the binary texture and palette files into a C file, are by me. [br][br]Both zip files can be found at http://www.storm-studios.net/onethirty8/Yetistuff.html

Vorrtexx has posted over at consolevision forums, saying hes been working on a 3D Light gun game. [br]This is what he said about the game:[br]The game is an arcade shoot 'em up which is temporarily named RevolveR. It's a game similar to house of the dead/Virtua Cop, in that you play it with a lightgun or control pad where a lightgun is not an option. Although it's nowhere near as sophisticated as Virtua Cop, I wanted to develop something fun to play with, and also to bring the lightgun into the game. The game is set in Old Western Times so I tried to develop it with this theme in mind.[br][br]Hes looking 2 or 3 people with BBA's to test the game.[br][br]For more info head to this topic[br]For some pics head here and here

Thanks to DrZoidberg for this news.[br][br]Eytan Kaziberdov asked me to pass on this messege to any devvers out there who would like to help out with the decoding of the rumble effect functions (as felt in Another Asteroids Clone), Eytan has posted all the info he has gathered as well as some source code to demonstrate but he still hasn't been able to get the KOS queueing system to work. If you think you can help out, check out the topic below:[br][br]http://www.dcemulation.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=48462

News from Emulatronia translated by Keith:[br][br]I just read over at Emulatronia that a new Dreamcast emulator was announced known as Chanka. From the screenshots shown it looks legit to me, but until there is a release there will always be skeptics and people thinking it is fake. For me personally I will hold my judgement until there is some proof one way or the other. Here is what was posted as well as some screens.[br][br]This is a new Dreamcast emulator for Windows. In only five weeks this programmer has gotten commercial games working. Here is some screenshots that demonstrates it: Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sword of The Bersek 1, Sword of The Bersek 2, BIOS Dreamcast. The emulator still does not have a date set for its release.[br] [br]Check out our Chanka Page here --> http://www.dcemu.co.uk/chanka.shtml

News from our Sister site DCEvolution [br][br] I holded this new release back for a simultaneous release with SMS Plus 2 wich originally had a slideshow feature. Because of the loading problems it had, the author decided not to release that version and has putted the source of SMS Plus online. It is a real shame, because it looked really neat. Plus I had this much improved pack ready for some months and I dissapointed many people by not releasing it earlier. [br][br]Information and downloads can be find on the SMS Plus Knowledge Base, located under "tools". Remember this is the ultimate title screenshotspack for SMS Plus. If you are using SMS Checker 0.81 than you are guaranteed to see a screenshot of every game in the rom selection menu! [br][br]http://www.dcevolution.netfirms.com

Finding a brand new Dreamcast Console is a rare thing these days but while searching for news i noticed that Play Asia an Hong Kong Video game seller (much like Lik Sang) have posted this news on their site:[br][br] Thanks to the most recent Dreamcast™ releases, we've again stocked up a couple of assorted Dreamcast™ related hardware as well as software titles that we were able to pick up for reasonable prices. Lots of titles were just stock up from games we were currently running out of stock, so those titles won't get a mention here.[br][br]Here's an overview of all items either new or back in stock. As usually all items are brand new.[br][br][br]Dreamcast Console (European version)[br][br]Dreamcast Standard Controller (boxed European version)[br][br]Fishing Controller (official Japanese version)[br][br]Performance Visual Memory Card (low price Interact version)[br][br]DiGiCharat Fantasy [Limited Edition/w VMS memory card][br][br]Phantasy Star Online[br][br]Super Robot Wars Alpha[br][br]Sakura Taisen 3 Demo Disc[br][br]Sakura Taisen 4 Demo Disc[br] [br][br]We were further able to pick up a good batch of the limited edition The Castle of Shikigami II / Shikigami no Shiro 2. It's expected to arrive tomorrow.[br][br]Last but not least, we are expecting another variety of titles to be in stock within the following 1-2 weeks (among them Sakura Taisen Memorial Pack 1, 2 and 3). All Dreamcast™ fans still looking out for some titles to increase their collection are suggested to check back frequently... [br][br]Handy if your looking for a new Dreamcast, or not if your not :P
