Hi !,
I've been yesterday in the MadriDC and now we can offer a lot of pics and videos taked in the event.
You can see interesting things about it and many videos with the actual compilated version (WIP) of Chankast running at 1280x1024 in fullscreen mode !!!!. Unai, member of the Chankast team, told us some secrets and future things to be included in their compilations. For example, the next version will bring us a debug mode !!! and others very very very interesting things like a new window showing the VMU LCD ;-)
Sorry for the language. The party, photos and videos are in spanish... but those are better than nothing.
You will find this pics and videos in http://www.talfi.net or http://www.talfi.net/e107/forum_viewtopic.php?3.5771.0 (our forum).
If anyone have some questions i'll answer if i could ;-)

NeoCD SDL, the fast NeoGeoCD emulator by Ian Micheal, Fosters and a whole team of great devvers is now running with Stef D's new C68K core! Here's what Ian Micheal wrote about the progress:[br][br]Well this is a great day with Stefs help and my 2 part dev system kos1.1.9 and some crazyness thrown in. I have it working fullspeed no slow down on games. It's like wow. [br][br]New version coming soon. [br][br]You will not beleive the speed this has. [br][br]It is a bit crazy to compile you need dev C++ and cygwin and to version of kos thats crazy.[br][br]Any way works and so good makes the other version look like it's running at 50%.

_tyrell_ has anounced a new version of his Sinclear Spectrum emulator Speccyal K for Dreamcast:[br][br]"A new version is almost ready. I hope to get it out this week, along with the source code (GNU). [br][br]Here's what has been fixed / added : [br][br]- Added loading/saving of compressed memory snapshots (4 slots available, display free VMU memory blocks). Accessible via start+left trigger. Can be used to save your hardly typed basic programs to memory card or save a game and play it later. [br]- Correct border emulation (line by line). [br]- Stability problems have been completely fixed. But unfortunately I had to remove the bilinear and fullscreen options (temporary, I hope), until I find a way to add PVR/DMA support without the previous problems. [br]- Autoload of .TAP files ! This will avoid typing the very annoying LOAD"" in basic. Requires 2 additional files on the cd, in the /lib/ directory. Multilevels .TAP games should also benefit from the new tape reading code from Philip Kendall libspectrum library. However some tape games can crash the dc but are quite rare. I have tested dozens of tape games and I'd say that 7 or 8 out of 10 are correctly loading. [br]- Fixed the interface issues quite a bit : left trigger = virtual keyboard, right trigger = options, start + left trigger = load/save, start + right trigger = file browser. start is still used in all screens as a confirmation key. [br][br]This will be released as the v0.2 version. [br][br]I'm already working on the TZX file format. I hope to get it working in the following 2 months (thanks to the very nice libspectrum library)."[br]

burnerO has released a bug-fixed version of Selfboot Inducer v4. [br][br]You should download the new version from Sbiffy!com when you get a chance.

[br][br]Takes a deep breath and writes:[br][br]Some important fixes to this update. It's faster again. These fixes were needed so you could fully enjoy it.[br][br][br]List of improvements in this version are:[br]- Now will tell you to wait game is loading when it boots [br]- bug fix for code error forgot to add this in v8.0 (samurai spirits rpg)[br]- Region selector fix now works in this version[br]- Added compiler flags for speed not space [br]- Sfx added back in code to slow to use ( disabled but z80 is being called). [br]- touch faster little bit less slow down on metal slug1 [br]- Region selector is turned on by holding in the start button now when you swap a cd in keep it held in then it will show up to change regions. Last time it was broken.[br][br]Please retest all games even metal slug 1 is faster now. The Emulation 64 Network, in which we are hosted on has suffered problems the last few days, so the host Martin has decided to move to a server that will ensure our future but it does come at a price, heres the newspost from Keith the webmaster of Emufanatics and Senior Member of the Emu64 Network:[br][br] Well it is time for a good old fashion money drive for a new home (server) for ET (EmuTalk).[br][br]Currently EmuTalk has outgrown it's old home and we (the emulation64 family) are asking for your help in raising some momey to cover the initial costs of getting the new server. Even the smallest amount would help out a bunch .. a $1 here a $1 there .. every bit helps.[br][br]Currently Martin (server host) is accepting paypal donations at martin@emutalk.net. If you can't use paypal and want to make other arrangements then please get in contact with Martin.[br][br]Thanks a million to everyone who wants to help get EmuTalk back up and running as soon as possible![br][br]These donations will also help many other emulation sites such as EmuFanatics, DCEmu.co.uk, Official Dolphin site .. and many more. The new server will become our new home as well and provide us with an even better network and sever so we can continue to bring you the best that emulation has to offer. Thanks again for all your help! [br][br]Ill echo Keiths Comments and say thanks for anyhelp.

This isnt pure Dreamcast news but it does have Dreamcast interest and its very intrigueing news at that, heres the news from an old pal of mine and LyonHrts:[br][br]News from the Rockin-B:[br][br]I released a snapshot of a long term project currently going under the name SAHLI - SAturn High Level Interpreter.[br]It's a simple TicTacToe demo created with SAHLI in about half of an hour. The snapshot runs on MacOS X, you may need the SDL pakage.[br]All game creation capabilities are disabled and the TicTacToe demo uses only a small portion of the functionality of SAHLI. [br][br]So what is SAHLI?[br][br]A complete console game development environment for classic consoles. The key fact is that it runs on the target console itself! For this, it has got some sort of own programming language, a powerful editor, which is ASCII based for good reasons. [br]It's initially targeted to enable you to make simple 2D games with it. With just less then 20 built in modules, it is already capable to create most of the games I want it to. [br]SAHLI is portable. It's main target platform is the SEGA Saturn, of course. But the current development is done on MacOS X using SDL and so it potentially runs on all computer systems that got a SDL port. This includes consoles like the GP32, Dreamcast and maybe others. [br]The games created with it are very small. The TicTacToe game, for example, is exactly 339 bytes small(the sprites are not included). [br]The SAHLI games will run on all platforms supported by SAHLI. This means you can create a game using SAHLI on your SEGA Saturn or your iBook, for example, and run it on your Windows or Linux PC or even Dreamcast without any change. [br]By creating an application with it, you define a new module in addition to the built in modules. Just like those, your app can be instantiated as a node in other apps. And so on. This creates a hierarchy and eases reusing and speeds up game creation. [br][br]As i said its very interesting, more info downloads etc here --> http://www.rockin-b.de/

I tried to newspost this, but, as Wraggster mentioned, we are having issues with our newsposting.
- JoMyFriendAtWork made a new graphics library for Dreamcast and PC programming which does basic 2d graphics using 3D hardware (giving ability to rotate, scale, ect). The library works on both PC (using SDL and OpenGL) and on the Dreamcast (using DMA PVR). He also made a clone of an old hockey game named hat trick and it runs very well from dcload-ip.
You can find out more, as well as get the downloads from this Consolevision forum post.
