Its not often i'd post news like this, but the rumour mills are running, with the "Explosive announcemnt" from Sega at this years E3......[br][br]Sega has invited all press visiting E3 to attend a special event as soon as the show doors open, where an "explosive announcement" will be made. Understandably, the press has jumped all over the opportunity, and now you can't even RSVP to get there.[br][br]The most obvious conclusion to what will be made public is Sega's return to the hardware market. The Dreamcast, Sega's last foray into the console wars, was unquestionably a success in terms of the quality of its games. However, the Dreamcast was by no means a success in sales, which led the company into becoming a third party developer. Without a doubt, there are many who would love to see Sega develop a new console. But with the market becoming as oversaturated as it is, it may not be the best time for Sega to trek back into hardware.[br][br]There is the possibility that the announcement will have nothing to do with an impending return to hardware. Even though, Sega has undoubtedly created quite the buzz leading into E3. But if it has nothing to do with hardware, then what could it be?[br][br]Source: RPGGamer.[br][br]Give your thoughts on this via our forums

After a long discussion with burnerO, DCStuff has learned that he is beginning work on the next Selfboot Inducer. The staff at DCStuff is very excited to announce this news.[br]In addition, burnerO has developed a new template for DreamInducer themes, so that artists no longer need to deal with coding XML files.[br]To help promote the new template, and the development of the next Selfboot Inducer, burnerO, in conjunction with DCStuff, is holding a contest to find the next "default" theme for Selfboot Inducer. More information can be found in the official topic in the News Board of the DCStuff forums.

News shamelessly stolen from DChomebrew [br][br]The NTSC-UK.com Dreamcast tribute I mentioned a couple of weeks ago is still going strong, the latest article posted is one based on the DC homebrew scene & was written by Tom Salter & John Szczepaniak. The article mentions emulators like DreamSNES & the MAME ports and lots of different homebrew games like Cool Herders, Trampalien Gunmen & Maquipai amongst other things, and also features an interview with Dr Zoidberg (webmaster in charge of DCEmulation)[br]There has also been new reviews of games like Capcom vs SNK Millenium Fight 2000, Fire Pro Wrestling D (JPN), Space Channel 5 Part 2 & Samba De Amigo Ver.2000, you can check those out by visiting NTSC-UK.com's Dreamcast section.

Deeroc has updated his site yet again, with some really nice news:[br][br]"So the DC-RPG I’m working on has a working title now, Fantasy Tales. More then likely I’ll put up a poll closer to the release date to see what the gamers want this game to be called, but for now it’s Fantasy Tales.[br][br]I was monkeying around in Photoshop and was having fun tinkering with a menu, so I decided to rip through and develop a main menu system, which is working okay for the time being. I’m sure I’ll go through and optimize and edit it some more later as its a little bloated, but get the job done just fine. I’m “borrowing” a screenshot from some game found on the internet, but it will be replaced before the release is made."[br][br]Plus some nice screenshots of the wip.[br][br]For the complete newspost and the shots go to:[br]http://www.ryanwarner.org/~deeroc/

As Darksaviour69 posted originally a few days ago, deeroc of ravenousgames fame, has been keeping a log on his rpg game for Dreamcast.[br][br]Currently he's cleaning up the engine for code design flaws, " It’s going smooth now, and I’m on proper track to get the engine fully ready for content development this weekend."[br][br]His latest post show's the current screenshots for the rpg, and discuss's some of the bug's which's he's working on to remove.[br][br]And finally...He's asking for ideas for the Dreamcast rpg, which he's set up a topic here.[br][br]For the complete dev log goto http://www.ryanwarner.org/~deeroc.

Some very very interesting news tonight that i noticed over at Emufanatics which they got from the (french)emu site Consollection any way heres the news in full from my mate Keith:[br][br] I just read over at Consollection that Runik, best known for Saturnin is now also working on a Dreamcast Emulator. There is a few SDK demos posted and some info. Here is what Ben-J had to post.[br][br]Announced yesterday by Runik, the mystery emulator is a Sega Dreamcast emulator [br][br]The development is advancing rather well, and textures are now showing![br]For proof, here three new screenshots, taken from the official SDK[br][br]More information soon. [br][br]*update[br]Ben-J just informed me that I misunderstood the post and it is not Runik that is the author, just that he was the one to figure out the mystery of what the screens were. My apologies if this caused any confusion. [br] [br][br]Excellent News, check out our new page for this emulator with screenshots on here --> http://www.dcemu.co.uk/runik.shtml

Hi just a quick intro from me, as one of the new members of the dcemu.co.uk team, i'm here to bring cool new features to the site, most of you know me from the dc scene, and design and maintainer of www.dcevolution.com.[br]Right thats that over...[br][br]The first new feature of dcemu is an RSS newsfeed, which allows you to view the headlines from Dcemu with an rss viewer such as desktop sidebar, and also allows you to have the headlines on a website or blog.[br][br]So you won't need to miss any new dreamcast emu ever again [br][br]The rss feed is http://www.dcemu.co.uk/news/rss.xml
