News from DC Homebrew [br][br] Ian Micheal has released a port of Walter Haslebeck's (programmer) & Jon Chang's (art/animation) top scrolling shooter KETM (Kill Everything That Moves). Here's Ian's take on this release:[br][br]"This is a great game one of the better Freeware open source Shrump. [br]Ive ported and fixed the SDL joystick events so they work anlog control support it's a touch buggy when you first start but it does work ok after a bit hold it to each direction etc. Due to it not running totaly fullspeed the control lags a touch i have optimized some delays so it's a bit faster. It has stage's levels power ups and good grafix. High score table menu options. Its really got the makings of a great game it does not have music yet or run totaly fullspeed. This can all be done. But i would, like help on totaly Polshing the port up any takers? I think it's worth it."

More news thanks to DCHomebrew:[br][br] ATani, who you may remember from such projects as DCGenerator on the Dreamcast & Laser32, Generator32, Genital32 etc. for the PC, has decided to step back into the DC scene & he has asked for assistance in the way of donations (hardware or monetary) so he can get a BBA and get his latest foray into the world of Dreamcast homebrew rolling again.[br][br]If you would like to help ATani out you can find details on how to make a Paypal donation & the address to mail him if you have a BBA or LA to giveaway in this forum topic. You can also see some of the potential projects ATani plans to use the BBA for in that topic as well. [br][br]Related link --> http://www.dcemulation.com/phpBB/vie...=474819#474819

Reaper has updated his site with this news:[br][br] I havent been able to find the time to do anything but the game I made for the game contest. It was a hard go, but I finally got it finished! Everything in the game is original, from the music, to the story line, to the graphics. Here's some screenshots (not to many though.. I don't want to spoil it!) An HTML version will be available later on. The game is called "Whispered Secrets". It's a game based off the "choose your own adventure" style books. I've blurred out the text in the screenshots so the story wont be wrecked .[br]I will be getting back on track in a few days. I have to chill out for a bit after making the game. Thanks for sticking around! [br][br]Site Link --> http://imrtechnology.ngemu.com/

News from Lik Sang about a new commercial game coming in around 10 days:[br][br] Hot on the heels of Psyvariar 2: The Will to Fabricate and of Puyo Puyo Fever, both released end of February, the next Dreamcast mega-hit is for sure Castle Of Shikigami 2, expected to hit the streets in approximately 10 days. The Castle of Shikigami 2 (Shikigami no Shiro II) is a horizontal 2D Arcade Shooter, similar to Ikaruga. The background are made of spectacular 3D special effects as in the recent Border Down for instance. The game is the NAOMI arcade board port of the sequel to The Castle of Shikigami. The Castle of Shikigami - Shikigami No Shiro was released stateside for the PS2 and was called Mobile Light Force II. Being a native Naomi title, the Dreamcast version should be a perfect conversion and therefore provide the best gaming experience over all platforms. [br][br]The Dreamcast Lives on, check out the screenshots at the link above.

...and it features an 8 pages Dreamcast special![br][br]This is the biggest issue to date, coming in at 51 pages, and sees the start of a host of regular columns. [br][br]The pinnacle of the issue though has to be the Retrovision 5 coverage. We are proud to say that we are the first publication to get this in print, a feat we will be mimicking in future issues. [br][br]Apart from the fresh and innovative articles, also included in issue 3 is the chance to win a copy of the great Blitz basic programming language that usually retails for £29.99. [br][br]Once again, it is a FREE download, however we are offering printed copies for those who want them. Use the Contact Us page to drop us a line if you require us to offer this service to you.[br][br]Get it from here:[br][br]http://www.retrorevival.co.uk/[br][br]Also check this topic where Simon of RetroRevival asked a while ago about the history of the independent Dreamcast scene and recieved some feedback from our board's regulars & staff. Thumbs up to everyone who contributed.[br]
