A new test version of the Dreamcast emulator Makaron (NAOMI version) has been released.
Quote:
NAOMI Test 12/7. I don´t have time to work on T13 lately and I´m not going to rush it, so you get this instead. I experimented a lot on this code - it might be actually less stable than the previous version. On the bright side, Power Stone is playable now. Should be, anyway

Europe is now Sega's biggest and most important market for boxed products.
The publisher has sold 5.95 million video games in Europe during the nine months ending December 31st.
That’s more than the 5.77m sold in the US and the 1.9m sold in Japan.
Overall the company shifted 13.63m boxed games worldwide, with the big releases for Q3 including Sonic Colours, Football Manager 2011, Vanquish and Japanese RPG Shining Hearts.
The numbers were revealed in Sega/Sammy’s financial report, which showed the company had seen profits rise 117 per cent, from £129m to £281m.
Sega’s boxed product business is largely based in Europe, with the US office restructured last year to focus more on digital opportunities.

SEGA Sammy Holdings has reported its financial results for the nine months ending December 31, 2010, with headline growth on both revenue and profit numbers.
The overall corporation saw sales rise by 8.7 per cent to ¥310 billion ($3.8 billion), while profit was up significantly, by 118.2 per cent to ¥63.0 billion ($772 million).
The majority of the income came from the pachinko and amusement segments of the business, with its videogame publishing arm bringing in ¥67.4 billion ($826 million) in revenues and ¥2.8 billion ($34.3 million) profit.
Titles released in the third quarter included Sonic Colors, Vanquish and Football Manager 2011 in the Western markets, while Shining Hearts was launched in Japan - but the company noted that it still found the videogames environment a challenge.
"In the overseas markets, sales of the new titles remained slow as affected by the adverse market condition, although sales remained solid in the Japanese market," read a statement.
In total just shy of 6 million game units were sold in Europe, compared to 5.8 million in the US and 1.9 million in Japan and other regions, making 13.6 million in total.
For the full year the company is forecasting overall revenues of ¥410 billion ($5.0 billion), which would be up 6.6 per cent over the previous year; and ¥37.5 billion ($460 million) in net income, representing growth of 77 per cent. Earnings per share have been estimated at ¥147.44 ($1.81).
The company's share price closed today up 1 per cent at ¥1744 ($21.38).

News via http://www.dreamcast.es/news.php?readmore=429#comments
And now the fun: in our requests were discussed thread of this game: Skunks ... Well, as proof of the ODE library, here you have for your Dreamcast !
Skunks is a simple car game where we perform acrobatics in the style of the legendary Stunts. The most interesting is that it is fully 3D (very rare in homebrew, right?). To achieve this, this game is based on ... guess? Open Dynamics Engine.
This version only uses SDL (and therefore, does not use any 3D acceleration PVR). Still, his behavior is quite spectacular. Also generate new circuits is easy: D
Author: Matei Petrescu
License: GPLv3
Web: http://sourceforge.net/projects/skunks/
Changes compared to the original:
- Added initial menu to choose track and car (7 circuits and 6 cars to choose from).
- Added technical that autoruns every time you complete the game, to save RAM.
Controls:
D-PAD: Move through the menu / control car
B: Reverse
Y: Aerial Camera
X / A: Move 3D Camera
L: Return to the Menu / Exit game.
The download includes the source code and binary.
Note that there are two binary (skunks.bin and dcloader.bin). If you make a bootable CDI, add the two bins and used as the primary dcloader.bin

What Dreamers ? Bored? Will come, maybe what comes in the next few hours I encourage a little ... or not. I present to ODE (Open Dynamics Engine) .
ODE is a library of high-performance, open source to simulate rigid body dynamics. It is stable, mature and independent of the platform made in C / C + +. Has joint types and integrated mechanism of collisions with friction. ODE is useful for simulating vehicles, objects in virtual environments and virtual creatures.
ODE and made headlines early in the Dreamcast homebrew. In 2003, L @ Cible ported an early version of this library (0.03 I think), and used it in an impressive technical demo (which you can try here: http://dcstuntracer.sourceforge.net/ )
What you have here is the LAST version of the library ready to be compiled and used in KOS environment (ie, Dreamcast). In a moment the news comes fun: D

The "Dreamcast Collection," first spotted on GameStop in November, is official. Sega announced the disc-based collection today, and we're a bit disheartened to see that it's exactly what we expected, because what we expected was pretty sad.
The collection contains Crazy Taxi, Sonic Adventure, Sega Bass Fishing and Space Channel 5 Part 2 (all with "enhanced graphics"). In other words, the Dreamcast Collection is composed of just the four totally random games that have already been released (or announced for release) on PSN and XBLA, burned onto a disc for Xbox 360 and released digitally on PC. We suppose it could be good news for PC gamers who weren't going to have access to the games otherwise.
The Dreamcast Collection will be available on February 22 in North America and February 25 in Europe. Pricing has yet to be confirmed by Sega, but GameStop's original listing showed $30, which would at least be cheaper than purchasing all four downloadable versions of the games separately. Yay?
