Well is been a week all ready and there have been 1,402 Files downloaded (3.593 GB)... not
bad for a dead scene
Thanks to those that has told me about files missing, and not working files, but if there are any more that you spot please tell me via pm or replying to this thread.
Quzar has started a developers section to the download site, and I would love for any coder or anyone to help, just submit files you think should be in the database.
Just as a reminder again, the ads from dcnews.co.uk go back into the site, so if you want to support the site click on the links ( left of the DCNEWSUK logo)

2 new release by our friend ron of DCIberia.net
First Jet Pac, port
http://web.ukonline.co.uk/james.blewitt/jetpac.html
Jetpac - The Return is a remake of the original game Jetpac for the ZX Spectrum and (I believe) the BBC. The old version was about a space man with a rocket pack who had to construct his rocket and fill it with fuel before taking off to reach the next level. It wasn't quite this simple however because aliens and asteroids and all sorts of nasties hindered the space man's mission.
This remake will attempt to stay true to the original formula whilst at the same time improving the graphics and adding lots more baddies, upgrades, features, levels etc, etc, etc.
The game uses SDL to power its graphics.

GameSetWatch.com has posted an interview with DELTAHEAD's James Howell on SegaGaga translation
a small cut from the interview Do you think it's something that you could recommend to someone not well versed in Sega history? To someone who hasn't played it - like me - it seems like something that might go over the heads of a lot of gamers - particularly Western ones.
SegaGaga definitely belongs in the hands of industry vets and Sega fanatics, though I don’t think it stands well as a game without its references. It’s not bad by any means—it just doesn’t do much original in the terms of the genres featured in it. In fact, it’s ironic that the game addresses a futuristic, fictional stagnation in Sega’s creative output, and it also features unremarkable gameplay in its RPG and shooter segments. Maybe the irony is intentional, but the game succeeds precisely because it takes full advantage of Sega’s presence in the industry.
With that said, the references are executed well enough to please Sega acolytes as well as folks who only read about Alex Kidd in magazines while they played the NES at home. A lightweight Sega fan may not understand that SegaGaga’s CEO, Hitomajiri, alludes to the actual Sega executive Shoichiro Iramajiri, but that material is there for the faithful.
The real test for players’ attention will come from the business sim portion of the game. Besides the fact that the genre doesn’t properly exist in the West (outside of perhaps some of the early Sim- games), the main rewards come through Sega references. If a player doesn’t see the comedy in spending half his budget to develop Super Wonderboy in the year 2025—resulting in a net gain of 5% of the market—he’ll likely need to get through the business sim on curiosity alone.

DCEvolution.net proudly presents a ready-to-burn Special Dreamcast Edition of bWWd's fantastic Battletoads!
While the game itself is identical to the initial release, a lot of changes and optimizations have been made to technical structure so now it finally runs from start to end in all game modes - without the RAM saving enabled!
In addition all other reported bugs in the original version have been fixed - Namely all slowdowns and the transparency problems with the cutscenes in the 'Zombie Party' game mode.
The game itself took eight long months to create and it shows: Battletoads DC is based on an enhanced OpenBoR engine and uses many new and rarely used features.
More facts:
- Four playable characters: Rash, Pimple & Zitz plus Sketch Turner from Comix Zone
- Five entirely different game modes: T.Bird Rescue, Revenge & Rematch plus Zombie Party & Comix Zone.
- Loads of unique moves and stages - plus weapons!
>>I hope this will inspire someone to start his own mod or make his mod better. Have fun with it.<< - bWWd
Got to this page for the download. Printable covers will follow soon.
Big thanks to Samurai X for updating the Dreamcast port of OpenBoR.

Christuserloeser found this sometime ago, but it was never news posted.
Its really strong Al Quida / PLO / Osama Bin Laden / Taleban fan game, an afterburner clone. We don't know the story behind this game, just the source site
Warning, this game is very very anti american, and also contains some disturbing images
the game source is available, if any coders want to remove/replace offensive graphics, and release there own version
You can download it from our download page

I have added a links page that will guide those interested in writing Fenix code for the Dreamcast to help forums and other information resources. There are also links to tutorials and other documentation, such as an almost complete English Fenix command reference. Visit the page at http://atari.vg-network.com/dcfenix.html for more information.

For the last few months I have been working on a new download database for all dreamcast releases, and I'm happy to say that its really to launch
DCNews.co.uk New Download section
I would like to thank Metafox, Quzar, SouLLy, GPF, Bluecrab, dawd, Mark30001 and wraggs for helping me set this up (sorry if I forgot someone)
Also lets not forget all the coders that made all the homebrew
Also thanks to Martin for hosting and installing Cfiles
All dreamcast releases should be there but if I have missed any please to report them ( or even submit them yourself )
Downloads are free, you don't even need to register, but if you do register, you can vote, submit and leave comments
There is a problem with the register for hotmail and yahoo users, but works fine for other e.g. Gmail, I hope to have this fixed soon.
Also as all releases are now on cfiles, dchomebrew now redirects here, well only dchomebrew.org/index.shtml all other links to dchomebrew e.g http://www.dchomebrew.org/kamjin/ still work.
Also from money generated from all the ads on DCNews.co.uk will be going back into the deamcast scene via contests or donation to coders
e.g. DCGP or DreamOn, or "get <name> a bba for coding etc
So if you would like to support the scene you can click on the pay per click adds on the top (left of logo) or buy some stuff from the feature online store ads
This includes all ads bar the to google adds above the news post area ( they go to hosting and I encourage that you lclick them to help martin pay for hosting)
thats all, I think
digg it

Ok, new screenshot time... Here's one of the new text entry, and the text buffer and all.....
basically, in case you're wondering, that blue box will be on the bottom any time you're online. It'll show basic stats about your character, as well as any text messages sent. Where it says "text is here" is where when you type, it'll show what you're tying currently. That's about it for now.

If your after a funky looking Dreamcast and have $349 floating around then this could be for you, personally i would rather get a Treamcast but each to his own.
Check out Play asia for more info.
