Chui has posted some news about the 4ALL series at his forum:
I am away because I am working on FAZE with Fox, its a very hard task.
I would want to build new MAME4ALL, NEO4ALL and ZX4ALL releases during next month.
Basically these releases will [feature] FAZE, so [they'll be] faster.
Also some small bugs will be fixed.
You can help the development of FAZE, Fox68k's Z80 CPU emulator in SH4, by beta testing the new beta version of FAZE which has been released along with a new version of ZX4All.
But Chui also posted some info on his plans for SNES4ALL and PSX4ALL:
I am not working on SNES4ALL and PSX4ALL now.
Fox prefers to finish FAZE now and [to] continue other projects later.
I suppose that we will continue SNES4ALL for Christmas, it needs a assembler code reconstruction and a rewrite of the video blitter for using DC-textures.
Both changes are hard, be patient.

Juan posted the following at the DCEmulation.com Forums, quoted straight from a post by Shih Tzu at Romhacking.net:
I saw this over at GameSetWatch: Apparently, a guy (who also runs a game-industry translation outfit) is working on producing a fan translation of Segagaga, that wacky Dreamcast game-industry sim where you take the reins of the ailing Sega corporation and band together with famous company mascots to demolish all rivals and put the house that Sonic built back on top. Just like real life! Oh, wait. Anyway, it looks like possibly the nerdiest game ever and must have been lots of fun to make.
As for the translation, while it looks like there are still lots of hacking issues to be resolved, the writing in the first preliminary screens is looking quite good. Let’s just hope the translators are savvy enough to catch the many, many Sega references in the game (the fact that the producer doesn’t even know who “Alisa” is worries me somewhat, but he also mentions that he’s seeking a lot of help from more versed fans, so that’s promising).
For more info please have a look at James Howell's page at 1UP.com.

Juan posted a partially translation of a post by Chui at DCIberia at the DCEmulation.com Forums :
Fox and I have been working hard on FAZE for the past few days and we have it in a pretty advanced state.
But we need beta-testers to find problems testing .Z80 snapshots that work on other emulators but not on ZX4ALL/FAZE.
You can download ZX4ALL/FAZE HERE, and you can let us know the problems at my mail: sdl_gp32 AT yahoo.es
There's also a couple of videos:

BlueCrab posted some very promising new screenshots (taken on Mac OS X) from his Online-RPG for Dreamcast, Linux, MacOS X, and Windows:
This screenshot shows two of Hawke's old DCRPG sprites on the screen. This was taken in an online mode game. The black mage in the picture is a server-controlled NPC.

Bobbi posted this news:
Some of you might still remember this announcement from early this year talking about a new dreamcast emulator called nullDC. Now, half a year later, we're happy to bring you a status update on this emulator today with some screenshots showing the great progress which has been made.
But let's start with some real facts directly from the authors this time: The authors are ZeZu, known from the never released Icarus project, and drk||Raziel. The emu, unlike mentioned in some other news posts, will not be open source. It uses plugins for emulating video / sound / input and gdrom functionality, so other authors will be able to contribute to the project easily.
During the development, the authors decided to set compatibility above speed. This resulted in a nice compatibility, but requires better hardware to emulate the games at full speed (an Athlon64 3000+ with a GeForce 6600 produces great results). As you can see on the screenshots, games such as Dead or Alive 2LE and Toy Commander are already playable and compatibility becomes better every day.
Watch this space for further informations on this emulator. A release date hasn't been set but shouldn't be too far away any more; don't ask for a specific date please.

In the latest Issue of EDGE (166), they have an 8 page article about the making of Dreamcast classic by Bizarre Creations, Metroplis Street Racer (the fore father of Project Gotham Racer). A great read, and I recommend to any Dreamcast fan ( and MSR or PGR fan) to get it.
But one of the side articles shows a picture of Geometry Wars running on the VMU! Could this be the Holy Grail of unreleased games? Well no, it was just an animation by Bizarre Creations animator Jeff lewis.

I'm a few days late with this release
Fragger has releases a new version of Makaqu (a quake port)
Here's the list of changes:
Quote:
============================
1.2 version changes:
============================
Dreamcast-related bugfixes:
- Updated the default deadzone values for the controller.
- Fixed the cd_enabled cvar being not registered if there is no audio tracks on the disc.
Common changes:
- Updated BlackAura's e-mail address in the credits screen.
============================
1.1 version changes:
============================
Dreamcast-related bugfixes:
- Corrected the name of mouse button 1.
- Fixed the "Pause" option in the Audio Options menu.
- nxMakaqu would crash when trying to save FrikFiles, because it tried to save them in the CD. Now the FrikFiles are saved in the RAM. There's no way to same them on the VMU yet though.
- The "screenshot" command is ignored now. This was done to prevent crashes, because it tried to save them in the CD.
Windows-related bugfixes:
- Fixed the crosshair being not displayed correctly in some video cards.
- Fixed the network menus (they were disabled by mistake).
Common bugfixes:
- Fixed a small problem with the interpolation (sorry, can't remember what it was).
- Now the translucent viewmodels are drawn over the translucent water instead of under it.
- Fixed the network protocol (demos recorded with some mods were not working).
- Fixed the "cmdline" cvar.
- Fixed some menu options that were not saved in the config file.
Dreamcast-related changes:
- Added an IP.BIN file.
- Modlist support for the /ID1 directory.
- Added support for the file /quake/gamedir/nxmakaqu.ini. This file can be used to set the title and description of the game in the modlist, as well as the sound samplerate, the video resolution, the size of the heap memory, and extra command line parameters.
- Added 320x480 and 640x240 resolutions (640x240 is faster).
- Resolutions up to 768x576 are selectable in the modlist.
- Changed the default audio samplerate to 11025 Hz, thus fixing some games that needs more RAM.
- The default setting for the stereo sound is set accordingly to the DC BIOS setting.
- Added support for volume control of the CD audio.
- The CD audio can be changed between stereo/mono, and the stereo can be reversed.
- The engine can detect the amount of CD tracks and display it on the Audio Options menu.
- Added support for mouse button 3 and mouse wheel. The mouse is fully supported now.
- Significant changes to the analog input support. Now the analog stick's axes can be bound to any command, and the "Axis/Trigger Function" options are gone.
- Added auto-repeat for the keys and face buttons while in the console or menu.
- Added vibration (Puru Puru/Jump Pack) support.
- Added a SVC_VIBRATE (61) message to the network protocol. Usage: SVC_VIBRATE, + 5 writebytes (special, effect1, effect2, duration, controller).
- VMU saves are compressed now, and saves from version 1.0 can still be loaded.
- Replaced the VMU file icon. The new one features colored borders for each game.
- Added a simple VMU LCD icon.
- FrikFiles are opened from the RAM if found in there, otherwise they are opened from the CD. Saving is always done in the RAM.
Windows-related changes:
- Removed the CD audio volume control from the audio menu.
- Now the engine knows the difference between CDs with no audio tracks and empty drives.
- The underwater screen buffer is always used, thus making the transparencies run faster on some computers.
Common changes:
- Improved the models of the super shotgun, nailgun, super nailgun, rocket launcher and thunderbolt. These new versions works better with interpolation and transparencies.
- Added a new progs.dat file with many bugfixes and some new features.
- The new progs.dat features a workaround for the solid skies in the original Quake levels. It can be disabled by typing "savedgamecfg 1" in the console.
- The status bar isn't displayed when changing levels anymore.
- The underwater warping effect runs at the same resolution of the video now.
- The camera tilting during weapon recoil is smoother. Now it uses 16-bit angles instead of 8.
- The Thunderbolt's lightning follows the player's rotation and movement smoothly now.
- Created QC support for self.frame_interval, to customize the time of the interpolation for each entity. Setting it to -1 disables interpolation, and setting it to zero uses the default value (0.1 seconds).
- Non-audio tracks are skipped when selecting an audio track in the Audio Options menu.
- Added a 3D stereo mode, using the r_stereo_separation cvar. It has a few bugs.
- Added options for fog and 3D stereo separation in the Developer menu. To disable the fog you must turn the developer mode off.
- Added the Timescale extension.
- Added a sv_compatibility cvar, to allow both network gaming and demo recording compatible with normal Quake.
- Added a sv_makaqu cvar to enable Makaqu-exclusive effects (EF_SHADOW, etc.).

I have moved the Fenix for Dreamcast page to a different URL. The new URL is http://atari.vg-network.com/dcfenix.html
The page has also been updated with some info about how to convert WAVs to s3m format without loss of quality and so that you can play songs in Fenix DC games without choppiness, memory limitations for the various files that DC Fenix uses, and some troubleshooting tips. These are all courtesy for pauljake. Thanks again to him for the info.

Today is a great day for DCEmu and the reason why is the launch of our new HQ or better known as the DCEmu Network Portal Site.
As you can see the logo has changed to incorporate our new Mascott, a mascott that pays homage to our Dreamcast heritage.
The new portal site has a fresh new look and i must say it looks the best of our sites yet. If you look around youll see a great new feature and thats the rotating feature areas which change upon everytime you reload the main page.
The Network site will be home to all our official DCEmu reviews (any offers of review material are always welcome.) Ive already moved my Treamcast and Maxevo Reviews and ill have a review of the Megadrive/32x Flash cart coming shortly.
The DCEmu Network is here to bring a fresh and legal side to the world of homebrew, homebrew is great for the fans but it also can be great for the coders who may get recognised by game companies if they are good enough. As new consoles come out we will expand to cover them.
I do have some thank you messages for Martin (our gracious host who keeps the show running, Soully (for the Web designs that showcase our network), DS69 (the forum admin and no 2 of the DCEmu Network), SevLila & SiZiOUS (for the excellent mascott) and also to PSPDemon and Kaiser and all the other people who have helped to get the new portal up and running.
So youve seen the screengrab above, now check out the new portal here --> http://www.dcemu.co.uk

Dreamcast-Scene.com will present the Dreamcast scene to the public, media and leading developer(s / teams) with an own booth at this years Games Convention in Leipzig/Germany.
The Games Convention is held from 23rd to 27th this month and it is the largest and most important European videogame exhibition.
If you live in Europe you want to contribute by borrowing some nice rarities of your Dreamcast collection or D.I.Y stuff to DCS for presentation at the Games Convention, now it's the time to do so. You'll get all your items back along with a nice present.
Have a look at this topic over at the Dreamcast-Scene.com forums to see what we already got and what you could contribute:
http://www.dreamcast-scene.com/commu...pic.php?p=7484
Of course coders are welcome to present their projects as well.
Send your stuff out to:
edited
Allow me to remind you that you could also help out by just updating the Dreamcast Wiki at Dreamcast-Scene:
http://www.dreamcast-scene.com/index.php/Main/Scene
Just click on "edit this page" on the right menu if you found that an article you would like to contribute some information to.
Interesting for coders should be that articles in Dreamcast-Scene.com's Wiki will show up right on top of Google, so if you want something you've been working on known to people from outside of the usual forums/sites, this should be your first adress.

Parts of fackue's Dreamcast Help site (not DCHelp!) were merged into the Dreamcast section at ConsoleVision.com:
All the tutorial's been merged into Consolevision.
It's been a long ride since this site has started. When I first started this website (anyone remember http://go.to/fackue) back in early 2002 my idea was to fill in the shoes of DCfun. The idea was somehow lost somewhere until now. I'm leaving all the internet releate material here, which is where it should be. I think I was known for the "free internet guy" for quite awhile - I kinda like the label so hopefully I can gain it back. Everything else will be at Consolevision.
The forums are going to be changed as well though there's now the Consolevision forum for that.
Anyhow, this site now hosts my programs and internet material and that's it.
