Crystals of Xaz is a Dreamcast and Gamepark game written using Fenix. More information about Fenix for Dreamcast can be found at http://atari.vg-network.com.
Work continues steadily on the game, and it's shaped up to be really fun! I'm currently rewriting the enemy generation code to support multiple enemies, added level (now called Quadrants) transitions, bonus enemies that fly across the screen and drop items when shot, the ability to warp ahead levels, "skil-step" code (allows you to select a starting level based on the last level you finished, a la Tempest arcade game), and have found an artist to whip up some real graphics for me. There have been so many changes in the past month that the original code I worked from (Istappen, http://fenixonfire.gp32x.de/html/sources.html, scroll to the bottom) has been completely obliterated and none of the original code has been retained. I've attempted to contact Chui about adding VMU saving to the fenix codebase so I could implement high score saving for the DC version, but he's extremely busy and I haven't heard back from him.
Here's a current screenshot using placeholder graphics:
Timeframe for release is "when it's finished", as I don't like to toss things out there just to say I put something out, and want to create a homebrew game using Fenix that will be playable, complete, and fun. Maybe this will spur others to create their own games using Fenix and rekindle interest in it.

Newest in a long line of 'last ever' dreamcast shooters, the mediocre Warashi (it's a shame to say that) Naomi-based game Trigger Heart Excelica will be hitting the Dreamcast in February 2007, under the name (as you may have surmised) Trigger Heart Extension. The game will get the standard premium and normal editions, according to Arcadia, who reported the news first. If you want more info on the game or Warashi, check our post announcing the unveiling of the Naomi arcade original.

Nice news, a new Dreamcast emulator called DEmul was released today! And it runs commercial games (see the compat list).
Heres the release news:
Hello from Russia! We are very proud to introduce you new DC emulator DEmul! We have been trying to write new emulator that will be able to run commercial games since first and only real DC emulator Chankast so far is stopped to develop.
Emulator was started to development early in 2004 year by Wind, but just canceled after Chankast released. About half a year it has been in hibernating, but Chanka was still imperfect and emu was continued to developing. About a year it takes before it shows up BIOS spiral, then early in 2006 year Wind found some emu-russia members and run his first most desired commercial game Resident Evil: Code Veronica. Next progress was very fast and last six of seven month took improvements and debugging.
Now emulator is able to run most commercial releases by various groups all along with homebrew demos and free software. We hope you enjoyed it.
Emulator still imperfect and incomplete. A lot of work still needed. Sound, timing and graphics need improvement and speed up. Since main developer is going to be little busy to do something with DEmul next year, we do not promise fast promoting and emulation progress. We try our best to fix as many bugs as we can and improve emulation.
Compatibility list with advanced features will be later all along with plugins SDK, docs and faqs. Anyway, you can ask your questions (not dumb, please ) by e-mail, report about some bugs or progress, please, read README.TXT file before. If you interest in development, we will glad to see you on IRC channels or forums that will be available later too.

Rockin-B posted this news on his site:
The deadline of the C4 - 2006 SEGA Saturn Coding Contest is coming nearer and nearer. I have received at least three requests to extend the contest.
Because of the higher difficulty level of this years objective (impressive visuals), I agree that it's a good idea to extend the contest for one month. So the new deadline is december 31st, 2006 23:59 CET.
Furthermore, I had joined myself last year and I have decided to join this year, again. It will be a Sonic-Style 3d tunnel racing game, inspired by a GP32 homebrew game and the Sonic game series. Good luck everyone!

Yeah, i need 2-3 people to test a beta copy of the new MDT (mac Dream Tool). It won't require much work, you dont have to burn test cds on your Dreamcast if you dont want to. just mainly run the program.
any Mac OS X+ is fine. but you need AIM.

Second version of Selfboot Inducer v4.0 modification was released.
Changes :- replaced old cdi2nero and cdi2tao with newer cdi2nero (0.9.9). it added a "-t" switch to generates a TAO image from command line. Now all generation image (CDI, NRG TAO and DAO) uses CDI4DC, so ... bin2boot's gone for good.
- new generation process... check it yourself.

kupra post at DCIberia.net
a poor online tranlationGood, I comment to you that almost I have finished the programming of the menu. They lacked some small cochairs and in the end I have been able to fix bugs.
I am dedicating myself to modulate the motor because it had parts that did not know where they left and there am tendio that to cut and to cut not to lose to me.
I comment to you that although slow, the project follows ahead. I teach a pair to you of imagenes.
I will like to pass a beta version so that testeéis. Soon... in a moment...
This seems to be an original homebrew game based on 1942 and not a port. Maybe one of our Spanish speaking friends could help translate this better for us
