It seems that the Nintendo Wii is 7 years too late with their motion sensing controller for a tennis game. Someone has beat them to the punch..the Sega Dreamcast. Thats right! No, there was no special controller that was never released or a modified controller. Its actually the Sega Dreamcast fishing rod. Yes, the fishing rod! The fishing rod works well with Virtua Tennis and acts as a tennis racket. Similar to that of the Wiimote and Wii Sports. It will take a bit to get use to but it works just like the Wiimote. Unlike Wii Sports where the characters are automatically controlled, you actually have to controller the players in Virtua Tennis with the analog stick and at the same time, swing the racket...errr fishing rod.
Below is a video of it in action.

This is the first in a new series of ScummVM releases from DC Evolution, it replaces our previous ScummVM compilation and is a one file download of the LucasArts demo archive. If we've missed any demos, let us know which ones, where to find them, and we'll add them in to the compilation as soon as possible.
11 demos are available on the Dreamcast main menu, another 23 are available as extras, all the demos can be used on various platforms that support ScummVM...

icepick from Dreamcast-Scene just found on Raiden 4 website a poll asking about which console the game should be ported. And one of the options is the Dreamcast!
Since the website is japanese, icepick translated the poll and you can select and write correctly.

- new: Alcohol 120% support using mds4dc!
- change: auto-dummying code had to be reworked -- a lot better this time around
- change: GUI fix (since disc format doesn't actually matter if you add CDDA tracks, I disabled it if the add CDDA menu is checked)
- change: CDDA tracks are converted to raw now, as required by mds4dc
- updated: more error-proof checks
I'm finally comfortable with the auto-dummying code -- older releases were just really ugly... I also recommend trying auto-dummying with audio\data Alcohol 120% images! Because of mds4dc supporting CDDA, the image is created faster because the dummy isn't put in the ISO, just the audio session in the Alcohol image. Neat, huh?
Warning: CDDA tracks in CDRecord will have static in them, so don't burn them in this version -- Alcohol 120% works fine though as I did test it before it was released.

New videos from the Sega Dreamcast emulator for Windows, still in development.
Click here if you want to download and see the videos:
Soul Calibur video
Guilty Gear video
Ikaruga video 1 video 2
Gun Bird 2 video
Zero Gunner 2 video
Project Justice video
Power Stone video
Last Blade 2 video
This is what the authors said (translated):
I managed to find an app which "cooperates" with Makaron and is able to fetch a movie from the emulator. It takes some cycles of my CPU, but something has to do the coding. Normally the emulator runs faster (e.g. Ikaruga doesn't slow down even for a moment). And there's no sound in the movies, because the free version... It's a success nonetheless, because FRAPS killed Makaron all the way. Of course the palette support is hardly software emulated "around", and some things mess up... but I still think it's nice.

Fragger decided to cancel the project. You can see in the link a nice video about the Fightoon gameplay.
What he said:
Fightoon is not coming out in 2007. And it is not coming out in 2008 either.
I am sorry to announce this, but the project has been cancelled.
There are many reasons for this. I will list some, but there are some others that we prefer to keep in private. This is a sad event for us, and right now we just want to take some rest.
In this topic I will explain why some aspects of the game are the way they are. There were many things I had to take in consideration when designing the game, and I want to let you know why some decisions were made. It is a lot easier to talk about these things now that the game is not coming out, since we don't have to worry about leaving bad impressions anymore.
Right now I will only mention that we didn't have any music to put in it yet, so I used a freely available music for the sole purpose of recording this video. Except for the music and the Makaqu engine, everything else was completely developed from the ground up by me and Rodrigo.
We want to thank everyone who gave their impressions about the game, and everyone who expressed interest in it. Sorry for not being able to get it done.
Also, thanks to the GOAT Store for all their support.
I will post again in a few days.

sonicteam10 received an official reply from Planetweb and they said the website will be back maybe in the next week.
This is the email received:
"On Thu, 17 May 2007 22:24:07 -0700, "Ken Soohoo" <soohoo@planetweb.com>
said:
Dear Erik,
Sorry that you've been emailing pwsales, its really not the right place to make Dreamcast requests. The reason dreamcast.planetweb.com is down is that Planetweb moved locations and we don't have the same network capabilities in our new location. We're going to try to bring it back online next week, but we're quite busy and not sure we can get to it.
Please do check back regularly.
Thanks for your patience."
