This is something that i´ve been working on, but stopped because i need to study for exams. It´s a snowbros2 (toaplan2) driver on franxis mame4all 5.1 in dreamcast (with chui´s port code).
The sprites doesn´t show: i disabled them because (i think) they "eat" all the memory while mame decode gfx.
I think that using some functions of mame 0.37 will make the game work fine.
If anyone want to help/see the code/get a binary/dance like robot just SCREAM...AWehAUWhEUhaUeh...

-Description-
Golden Axe Remake is an enhanced version of the arcade original. This game was initially made for Windows by Chinese OpenBoR coder utunnels.
utunnels also helped a great deal with the Dreamcast version. He vastly optimized the script language in OpenBoR and did many other engine related code optimizations to allow the game to run on the Dreamcast's 200Mhz CPU and 16Mbyte RAM. (In the future we will use the DC's 8Mbyte Video RAM and 2 Mbyte Sound RAM too! )
My part in this release were the RAM related optimizations to the mod itself. I also recorded the music.
-Download-
There were problems with the previous download but it seems I got it working: The problem was FireFTP!
I uploaded it using Windows Explorer now and it seems it worked fine as the file size finally is correct this time.
-DOWNLOAD HERE-
So, please download again using above link. The file you receive should be 163.99 MB (171,961,060 Bytes) big.
Sorry for the inconvenience everyone.
- Enjoy!

I've uploaded a fully tested and working Dreamcast version of Golden Axe Remake to DCEvolution.net:
It's a full remake and enhanced version of the arcade game - Golden Axe.

Lxdream is a linux-based emulator for the Sega Dreamcast system. While it is still in heavy development (and many features are buggy or unimplemented), it is already capable of running many demos and some games.
Last 0.8 point release, I swear. Just for a change, this one actually has some new features too. Specifically, it now runs linux (now some may argue that that’s not actually a _useful_ feature, but it’s a nice milestone)
With that out of the way, I think it’s finally time to rip the renderer apart and fix it all up, don’t you? ^_^
What’s New
MMU Implementation - As previously noted, linux-dc now runs quite well, albeit slowly.
Dreamcast mouse and keyboard controllers (also rather essential for running linux-dc)
Support for real joysticks and gamepads (linux host only)
Various bug fixes
Other Changes
Change timer (TMU) interrupts to be precise (within the bounds of a code block anyway)
Implement SLEEP op properly in translator
Clamp run speed in the GUI if it’s running too fast
Run event loop more frequently to avoid missing keyboard events

We had the honor to catch your musician today and he is ready to make Sound FX for the game. First results should be out in 2-4 weeks. As he has to write his master degree work, he will be busy for the next two months - after that, he can fully concentrate on finalizing music, soundfx and jingles!
Good luck, operator!

From the official site:
After fixing some boneheadedness in the ASIC event code (and a whole passel of translator caching and other bugs), I’ve finally gotten to the login prompt:
(to clarify, this is the dreamcast-linux-010605 ISO that Takeshi Yaegashi put together several years ago, running a modified 2.4.5 kernel)
Unfortunately (after the happy dance), it was at this point that I realised I haven’t actually implemented the keyboard yet, so it’s impossible to do anything useful with it. It’s also admittedly painfully slow to start, but I was expecting that (TLB lookup is currently near pessimal).
Anyway, working on the keyboard driver now ^_^.
PS: If anyone has a working link to this image, please let me know where it is (I’d like to keep a link to it) - my google-fu has utterly failed to turn up a good version as yet, and my own copy is only on a somewhat scratched CD…
Changes
* Add VMA support to the SH4 disassembly functions
* Handle out-of-page delay slot execution with emulation single-step
* Finish translator breakpoint implementation
* Fix a pair of long standing ASIC event bugs
* Fix xltcache forgetting to clear references to blocks before overwriting them
* Fix recovery + backpatch records not being position independent (big duh!)
* Fix yet another translate block bounds overrun
* Fix MAC.L/MAC.W exception handling (broke the stack if the second arg caused an exception)
* Fix various other minor bugs
Update: Just hacked together a quick keyboard driver, able to login and launch X now. Excellent…

Awesome Newspost from Insert credit
Madroms, who unveiled the Dezaemon 2 Saturn save system a while back also has a lot of info on Saturn Game Basic, which allowed hobby programmers to program in Basic on the Saturn. If you check that link, you can learn a fair bit about a lot of the games released by homebrewers over the years (there have been a surprising number of releases since the Dreamcast came out...), and there are a number of videos as well - all the games are downloadable if you have Saturn Basic to play them on. I'll highlight just a few.
Funny Zone is a Space Harrier-like realization of Opa Opa in Fantasy Zone.
Return of Grass is a rudimentary 3D shooter.
Fake Dragoon is a moderately charming Panzer Dragoon clone test.
Radi Con Boy is a racing game, with a tank as the "protagonist" vehicle.
Tactics Blaze Chapter 2 is actually a real game - a tactics RPG.
Pro Wrestling has charming 2D chunky graphics but doesn't seem to play well.
Hot Kick is a very nice looking 3D shooter starring the letter A.
Casmi ga Yuku! is a shooter starring the Dreamcast, versus the Saturn.
Kakutou Game (aka Fighting Game) is a pleasantly horrid looking fighter with obnoxious stock sounds.
Hien is close to being an actual game, a scrolling shooter to be precise.
This is probably the best one though. It's called Super Mario, and is a frightening 3D remake of the first level of Super Mario Bros. Well worth a look.

via Giana's Return Progress Blog
As promised here is a small roundup of the current standings.
We hopefully finalized the levels of world 1 to world 3, the last adjustments we did, were to have equal enemies, instead of having them mixed up all over the game. This adds some kind of “system” and should let the game appear more professional. While we were working on this task, we added way more enemies to the playing field. The game is slightly harder, but nothing is impossible. Considering we gave Giana a nice and proper energy bar, there will be definatly use for it now.
The level designer is playing with his mind to add another few extra levels. There would be an extra level for world 1 and 2 already, but it’s unsure if it will make it into the main game. (This one is even new to the coder *grin*)
Another thing our coder was working on, we now have foreground and background tiles, but… to keep the game at decent difficulty, only objects such as the gras in world 1 and the mini-mushrooms in world 3 will stay “in front” of Giana.
The graphics guy, who is responsible for the tileset readjustments is waiting for his next job - but the depressed organizer somehow can’t make it, to send him the next steps. See this positive or negative
The promised “Lava-World” video will be delayed to the corrupt graphics files, we need to find a proper intact pre-version of it first.
As you can see, things are rolling more or less.
Regards
Your Giana’s Return Team

drkIIRaziel posted information, screens and a video about the upcoming nullDC version, showing progress on the Sega Naomi emulation.
Info:
I was messing today with some old Naomi emulation code and after fixing some stuff on the dynarec/PowerVR plugin I got the naomi bios running.
UPDATE:
<update #4>
It seems that the naomi 2 bios just wanted some DIMM emulation to get to the error screen.
NOTE: NAOMI1 or NAOMI2 GDROMS are STILL FAR AWAY FROM RUNNING.Dont get too excited.
<update #5>
Fixed some bugs here and there and got vs2_2ka intro working with sound.

Well, there's been another release of Yabause, the Sega Saturn Emulator for Dreamcast (as well as Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows). As for what's new, there's been plenty of bugfixes. Most of the bugfixes were for the Linux and Windows versions, but there were a few to the core of the program. No major changes were made to the Dreamcast version, so if you have 0.9.2 around, there's probably little reason to update.
Anyway, You can get it at the following address: http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ease_id=569739
Enjoy (and leave any comments you might have here).

Im sure you know that the Dreamcast Download Archive is down yet again and despite my very best attempts i cant get the thing to work.
Martin seems to be very busy these days which kinda means that i have to act sooner rather than later.
Now dont worry we have all the files and even though DCHomebrew the site is offline i can still access the files (pity ztnet.com wont give me access)
Now DC News needs a new revamped look that fits in with the other network sites and with its own colour but im also thoinking of using a Vbulletin database that we originally set up for the PSP Site instead of Cfiles.
I do wish i could get cfiles back online as the workload is rather massive already but i shall get something done is the next week or two.

Giana’s Return - returns for sure, but when?!
Dear Giana Sisters enthusiasts,
Working on a sequel of such a famous game as “The Great Giana Sisters” is not an easy task. We have heared many comments up to now and most of you might still remember the public Versions of Giana’s Return v0.91 for GP32, Dreamcast and Windows (32-Bit). Most people are happy to see the progress, some just feel ashamed that we are touching an alltime classic and trying to put it in a new shape. As the team itself is very addicted to those kind of games, let us assure you, that we do our best to keep the faith of the original.
The current progress is in a stage, where everything is fully playable but needs a lot of graphical adjusting and level retouching. Our betatester Mulle, a kind and helping hand from Germany, has already put a lot of time into the game, by testing details. The game wont be out tomorrow, neither in a month - but we will not abandon anything.
The storyline is complete and currently beeing added to the engine, same applies for the illustrated story. The tile adjusting will require some more time, so far 4 tilesets are adjusted, this makes 3 sets left.
The rough final should be ready by end of this quarter, we will use the second quarter of 2008 to iron out and fix details - of course this timeline is rough and only applies if nothing bad happens.
To raise your mood and get the time of waiting a bit reduced, here are the links to the videos posted on youtube.
World 3 in action:
A new video of the lava world should be up in the next two weeks. For everyone who was in the dark about the “release date”, now you have more background information.
Greetings
Yours Giana’s Return Team
