Sega is looking to change its management structure to better integrate its east and west divisions. Edge reports that Sega's corporate strategy exec., Takayuki Kawagoe, believes that the current system doesn't take full advantage of everyone's experience and expertise within the company.
The publisher is looking toward new growth in the West and leveraging its IP in new media, like the Valkyria Chronicles anime, for example. Sega certainly has to do something to turn things around. Laying off 18% of its workforce, with a lack of recent hits in the portfolio, doesn't really instill confidence in investors.
